Everyone at the Missouri Evans Scholars chapter is excited for another amazing school year. We have gotten off to a great start and have done some fun things already. But, something made this semester a little more exciting than usual and that is because this year is the 50th anniversary of the Mizzou Evans Scholarship House.
On Saturday, Sept. 15, we got to celebrate the 50th anniversary. About 200 people gathered to celebrate this milestone. The day started with house tours and several Evans Alumni returned to the cottage on Tiger Avenue to step inside the house they called home for four years.
It was amazing being able to talk to the Alumni to see how the House has changed over the years and to hear their stories from when they lived here. Everyone got the chance to mingle and catch up. It really goes to show how the relationships that are formed in this House last a life time.
After the house tours, everyone headed to Memorial Stadium for a lovely dinner. There were three speakers who highlighted how the House has changed over the years and what it means to be an Evans Scholar. It was so amazing being able to watch all of the Alumni from all classes get together again and catch up.
The Missouri Evans Scholarship House has been sending caddies to college for 50 years and we look forward to many more amazing years. If it weren't for all of the donors and Alumni, none of this would be possible. We are so thankful that donors continue to support the program and continue to send so many caddies to college.
